Term limits: Still a dilemma after all these years

The good news: Term limits bring fresh blood and ideas to Missouri’s legislature. The bad news: Novice legislators lack the skill and knowledge of how government works, and often substitute politics for policy. These were among the issues discussed Saturday during an UMSL conference on term limits.

    Better to have term limits than government by lobbyists.

      Don’t think it’s quite so simple. In many ways, newbies can be more susceptible to lobbyists’ wiles simply because they’re new.
