State Says It Can’t Afford To Implement New Charter School Law

By passing a law to expand charter schools, the Missouri legislature said it wanted to provide more options for high-quality public education.┬áBut the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is now telling lawmakers that before provisions of the law can be put into place, they need to come up with the money to do it.
